What's LOPLOP?

LOPLOP was an electronic music unit that started activity in summer of 1987 and it lasted untill spring of 1988. The name is from a bird that Max Ernst, dadaist and surrealist, painted. Its sound is a kind of new wave and is distinctively a combination of groovy bass and classical music like electronic strings. And its lyrics are sorts of dadaism and surrealism, meaning almost nothing but something hollow inside human heart. The members of LOPLOP were Soni Shelley and Shimone Muller. On live stages Soni sang, played the bass and controlled digital drums, and Shimone played the keyborads. LOPLOP made several shows in University of Osaka Prefecture, once at a Namba OUT CLUB in Osaka, and once more at Eggplant in Nakazono-cho where was Mecca for punk and new wave musicians in Osaka.
